Bionautit is a Finnish scientific co-operative venture specializing in providing research and consultancy for scientific projects, primarily in the fields of microbiology and biology.

Miikka Tunturi

Miikka Tunturi is an Environmental Engineer (B.Sc, Eng) and an Environmental Geologist (M.Sc), he is a professional in environmental remediation. Miikka has wide ranging experience in the design and implementation of contaminated soil, groundwater and sediment remediation. He has completed research projects in areas such as of hazardous waste management, landfill disposal and issues affecting the mining industry.

Miikka is enthuatistic in developing and carrying out green solutions based on a solid scientific (often biological) and also economical foundation. Miikka has a strong background in hydrogeology and geochemistry and he has developed numerous computer models of ground- and surface waters, as well as chemical reaction models of wastewater. Miikka is specialized in the use of in situ remediation methods of contaminated sites. Miikka operates in the cleantech world, conducting R&D projects that fuse different aspect and environmental projects for major internation organisations such as the UN, EU and world bank.

Before joining the Bionauts, Miikka spent was employed by the Ekokem Group. One of his major clients is Lamor Corporation AB, a global market leader in oil spill reponse.

In his spare time Miikka enjoys rock climbing, trekking and amateur theatre.
